Contemporary Composition
The North Dakota State University Challey School of Music, the American Choral Directors Association, and the American Composers Forum presented the “NDSU Choral Symposium: Contemporary Composition in America” in 2015.
Noted composer, conductor, and lecturer Eric Whitacre headlined the three-day symposium, and presented sessions on his music and work with NDSU choral ensembles.
Composers, conductors, choral enthusiasts and music students participated in sessions highlighting American choral music of both emerging and established composers.
Topics to included commissions, publishing, second-performances, composition competitions and programming. Guest presenters included nationally and internationally known composers.
