Dr. Will Sutton is Assistant Professor of Music at North Dakota State University, where he teaches trombone, conducts ensembles, and contributes to the music theory curriculum. He previously served as Assistant Professor of Music at Northwest Missouri State University, where he taught low brass and music theory and lead the Northwest Concert Band.
During the summer, Will teaches music theory and low brass at the New England Music Camp in Sidney, Maine. As a performer, he has appeared with the Kansas City Symphony, Grand Rapids Symphony, Topeka Symphony, St. Joseph Symphony, Lansing Symphony, Orchestra of Northern New York, Holland Symphony, and the Capital Region Wind Ensemble.
He has been invited to perform and present at the Midwest Regional Tuba and Euphonium Conference, International Tuba and Euphonium Conference, and the Nebraska Music Educators Association Conference, and has appeared as a soloist with various college and university ensembles. Will has also served as a guest artist, presenter, and adjudicator at the International Women’s Brass Conference and the Boise Low Brass Camp.
Will enjoys his many opportunities to be a clinician and guest conductor with ensembles throughout the Midwest and beyond, and he focuses on building community through music. His solo playing can be heard under the Kendor Music label. Will is an Eastman/Willson/Shires artist.
