Praised for her warm and silvery voice, French Canadian lyric coloratura Mariane Lemieux-Wottrich has performed roles such as Juliette in Gounod’s Roméo & Juliette, Musetta in Puccini’s La Bohème, Galatea in Handel’s Acis & Galatea, Despina in Mozart’s Cosi fan tutte and Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro as well as Eritea in the New York premiere of Cavalli’s Eliogabalo. She made her debut with Fargo Moorhead Opera as Marie in Donizetti’s La fille du régiment in 2015 and then sang the role of Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance in 2017. She also made her debut with the Fargo Moorhead Symphony Orchestra in Carmina Burana in 2016. Previous seasons have included appearances with CAMMAC Orchestra, Orchestre Métropolitan in Montreal, New York Lyric Opera, Stony Brook Opera, and at Source Song Festival, New Opera Festival di Roma, Crescendo Summer Festival in Hungary, and the house of the Canadian Ambassador in Sweden.

Specialized in French repertoire, Lemieux-Wottrich has presented recitals, masterclasses, and workshops across the nation and abroad. She currently teaches at North Dakota State University and previously held positions at Belle Arti Center for the Arts in New York, Domaine Forget Music Academy in Quebec, Yellow Barn chamber music festival in Vermont, and MasterVoices in New York City. Lemieux-Wottrich obtained her Doctor of Musical Arts from Stony Brook University under the direction of acclaimed mezzo soprano Elaine Bonazzi.
